Ok. Today my speech topic is “Why shouldn’t people have sex before marriage?” First, I want to ask, how many people here think that it is ok to have sex before marriage? Please, raise your hands.

As for me, I believe that we shouldn’t have sex before marriage. In my hand, I have an article from the AGI, which stands for the American Geological Institute. It indicates that a big proportion of American have sex before marriage.
The main reason that I believe we shouldn’t have sex before marriage is my religion. I am a Christian. In fact, the Bible doesn’t really have any verses that tell us we can’t have sex before marriage. But there are still some verses that show us we must not have sex before marriage.
The first verse I found is “Keep away from the desires of the flesh. Every sin which a man does is outside of the body; but he who goes after the desires of the flesh does evil to his body. Corinthians chapter 6, verse 18.” The meaning of the term “desires of the flesh”, in Greek, does not only mean sex but also mean other behaviors. Such as fellate or touch others’ sexual organs. So, if we do such things, it means that we’ve committed a crime.
Another verse says that “So that every one of you may keep his body holy and in honour (honor). Thessalonians chapter 4, verse 4.” If, every time, when we have sex drive, then we have sex, isn’t it familiar to the situation of hitting someone in anger? Therefore, we really shouldn’t have sex before marriage.
Sexual relation is a present that God gave us, and the present should be opened at the right time, which is after marriage. Think about the following situation, if we bought a present that we want to give your friend, but somebody stole it. You would feel angry and sad, wouldn’t you? As the same to God, if we have sex before marriage, it means that we’ve stolen the present. Therefore, God would feel angry and sad as well. So we really shouldn’t have sex before marriage.
True love is worth waiting. If boyfriends and girlfriends really love each other, why can’t they wait to have sex after marriage? If they can’t wait, then, they might have to think about if they really love each other or not. Or do they just covet after the pleasure in sex. In some coaching experience, the experts found out that if the girls or women didn’t want to have sex with her boyfriend before marriage, their boyfriends would respect their girlfriends more. He will have more patience. And he will afraid if his girlfriend does not love him. Contrarily, if they have sex before marriage, the situation will exchange. Most of time, the girl will become worried about her boyfriend. She would fear that if her boyfriend had sex with her, then he wouldn’t love her anymore. Will her boyfriend have no interest in her anymore? Will her boyfriend leave her? If they lose the trust, how can they still be together?
